Need Help Identifying An Old Sega Game

Hey guys I have an issue. I'm feeling nostalgic and I've downloaded serveral emulators and roms all week and been playing games from my childhood. Im having trouble tracking down a old sega game I used to own and I can't remember the name for the life of me. PLEASE HELP! Here are the details

Sega genesis title

side scrolling platforming game

looks like Valis but from the screens and videos on youtube its neither valis 1-4 nor is it super valis4

the main character is a girl and she short and chubby (chibi like) and she uses a sword that can get powered up and she gets diff armor that gives her diff abilities and she wears them dramatically, like one armor is all blue, another is all pink, and they look like future samurai armors.

please help guys! I need this for a friend she loved this game and cant remember it either.

okay from the wiki link i was given above this is the super deformed version of valis2 which was the closest to the game I had found previously hahaha thanks everyone!
