New H2H Skill Cap

I noticed there was new H2H skill gear, which effectively will put Monk @ 329 H2H skill (Cap@80: 301, Merits +16, Tokon Hachimaki +5, Faith Torque +7) The problem with this is losing all Haste in the Head slot. Even with the new haste gloves you would be 2% shy (1% if you forgo Byakko's Haidate for the 6% Torrent Subligar)
I tried to find a work around but the only way I could figure out keeping the 25% was /drg
Also would the 329 even put you in a new damage tier?

BB/Byakko's/Fuma/Ocelot/Tiercel is 24%, for what it's worth. And yes, the head puts you into a higher tier with the above setup, as well as with the setup I just listed. I don't see either being terribly wtfpwn though... if anything, I'd examine your options with Footwork builds using OAThrice H2H. Heard good things about that, especially with a "5-hit" (dependent on WS return) setup using Tornado Kick. Tigerwoods or one of the other MNK mains can elaborate on that better than I can though.

Tiercel would restrict the neck slot so no Faith torque.
In the above setup, swapping out Byakkos for Torrent, then Ragers for Fuma would put you at 24% as well but you would lose 15 dex 5 str 10 acc and 12 atk.

Can just hope for a 2% haste cape or something XD

I believe its pointless 324 is plenty the only thing monks really need to consider is weather to bother using sea gorgets for ws or keep on faith torque and weather or not to keep ancient torques for high acc build now you can push through to over 320skill using faith torque. No other gear h2h skill wise should come into play at lvl 80 if you have anwig set to 15ws acc 10acc 4str 5attk.
5/5 usu beats that build and if you cant get 5/5 usu then fuma + b haidate + norit/bando kotes + mirke or togi + walhara helm and subbing war is woud be close.
I dont find mnk/drg to be that useful either sj war , nin or dnc.
Body, weapon, ammo, back, neck, rings, 1 earring, body, waist and legs id keep, use walhara turban + aesir/fenrir earring subbing nin or war.
As for the hands and feet idea you have a point there ocelot hands and rager feeties combined are better stat wise than usugote/nortisune/bandos + usufeet/fuma.

I agree some what. At the moment without the means to cap Haste it would be pointless, but as soon as an option to fill in that last 1-2% Haste presents itself, stacking H2H skill should out perform other options as long as the skill is reaching a new base damage tier.
On another note the hat still looks sexy for Asurans.

Dbody instead of Usu, Charger instead of Sharpeye, and Atk earring instead of Pixie/Jupiter then. Oh and you can swap Lucky Coin for Thew since they are both ammo.

I try to stay away from the addon peices when I make sets, since not everyone will be able to use them just for Monk. I myself use body for another job.
Edit: Also adding the MDK hat drops the base weapon dmg back down.

First of all, you're sacrificing haste (or losing out on /war to compensate for the haste w/ wyvern earring).
Second of all, even if we overlook haste 4 str 10 acc 5 attac 15 ws acc anwig salade would be slightly under for TP and beat it easy for ws.

I agree its useless now for tp since you cant maintain haste.
If my math is correct here:
301 H2H Current Cap No merit
(301 x 0.11) + 3 = 36.11 Base Dmg
317 H2H Current cap Merits
(317 x 0.11) + 3 = 37.87 Base Dmg
324 H2H Cap Merits Faith
(324 x 0.11) + 3 = 38.64 Base Dmg
329 H2H Cap Merits Faith Tokon
(329 x 0.11) + 3 = 39.19 Base Dmg
Then that 4 Str 5 Atk > 1 base dmg on Asurans, acc aside assuming all hits are landing?

Well, considering if your fstr isn't capped, 4 str = 1 fstr. 1 fstr = 1 DMG. Asuran also has a 10% str mod, so you have a small chance of bumping your DMG up by 1 again.
So, we have
1-2 dmg vs 1 dmg
