Not sure how new this news is, but much to my and many dat modifier's dismay, FFXIdats.com is closing down sometime this month.
So just a reminder, download everything you could possibly want there before hosted links to all your goodies go bye bye forever. Also if anyone else knows of a site that shares a community of customized dat hosting for FFXI, please share the love.

And anybody that *** about ToS infringement seriously needs to get the hell off this site.

I need my mithra dats ; ; It's a shame that most of the geniuses that made so many incredible things possible no longer play the game, and as a result indirectly brought the site down. I hope that even with the sun setting on the game already, we will have devout players with eccentric valor willing to bring the community back together and continue working on making FFXI much more awesome than what was initially delivered.

Yeah, some of the third party file hosters got rid of them for who knows what reason and are difficult if not impossible to find now. But scavenge whatever you can while the gettin is good. Also the front page sorta explains why they're closing down. Basically it's been around for about 6 years and most of the admins/mods don't even play the game anymore and don't have the time, patience, will or money to keep the place going for everyone. That's too bad... I know the forums at windower.net have a .dat modification section, but I think it's pretty inactive.

That's too bad, like others said there's also Nekosentai. I also have a rather large chunk of dats downloaded, disorganized though, doubt it would be archive material.

Also: Mooshy! Where are you?! @ Wee: There's a bunch of guides on XIdats.com, I really really suggest copying them down, even the pics if you want to learn or just to use as reference. They helped me to no end when I was learning things^^ (And I still scour them now, especially since I'm so out of practice hehe)
