of course there is a catch... if you let people into your life you not only get to share the good times with them but you also have to accept and absorb a certain amount of accompanying drama and misfortune.

it's one of those yingyangie type dealies. an old buddy of mine wanted to reconnect recently and we swapped a few catch up emails. but he kept asking for my phone number so I quit writing him...before he had the chance to bare his tormented soul on me...

The reunion was alright. Was held outside at a brewery.
Met a few old friends from school and talked about what we did/currently are doing. Definitely makes me want to reconnect with some people.

I mean, I've talked with some people that I hate back in high school now and I find them much more mellow/agreeable now. It's really just luck in seeing if people have actually made changes in their life/personality.

I got along with everyone in high school.../shrug
blend in and back out of all the different cliches.... plus with my psychopathic magnetic personality everyone confides in me and tells me all their darkest secrets...

even total strangers still do it to this day... I'm used to it..

my thoughts are, I never liked any of those people to begin with, what makes anyone think time will have changed that?

I've been debating whether I'd go to a reunion for awhile now...

I think I may try to hit the 10th when it comes up... just to keep track of people.

I skipped the tenth and the thirtieth... but I did go to my twentieth reunion... life certainly rode some of those *** hard and put them away wet... lots of male pattern baldness and beer bellies...I felt bad when I didn't recognize people right away.

the preppies seemed to have fared the best over all.

but yeah...I was not ready to confront some of the stark realities and I was unable to contain my shock and awe face... the popular cheerleader girl who had five kids, raccoon eyes and looked like she spent some time with one or more of her ex-husbands as a human punching bag...

I felt bad later about the look of astonishment I was probably wearing half the time...

so my advice is, if you decide to go... mentally prepare yourself for it. some of those kids are going to look like they have been through the ringer... just smile and say "it's good to see you".

I kind of wish I had purchased a year book so that I could have tried to give it a once over to remember some names and faces before I went.

Also, I listed some evil accomplishments/inventions on my questionnaire and really wished I hadn't I should have put "office drone" or something... the *** measures wanted to grill me about my accomplishments.
