some buddies of mine from the old days got the band back together for a thirty year reunion show this past weekend. I wasn't going to go... one of the guitarists, that was a good friend, had past away a few years back. It stirred up a lot of sad memories and I wasn't sure I could handle it. But god bless my wife who talked me into it by saying, "you should go, you never know when you'll lose another friend and how bad will you feel then"

It was sage advice and I'm glad I listened. Sure it meant I would have to listen to horror stories about people getting divorced, imprisoned etc, but all in all I am thankful for her to talking me into it.

On the way up I was thinking about the greeting "How's it going"

Do you want the short version? do you want the long version? do you want to hear about the good parts or the bad parts? A mixture of the two?

I went with "great" because it's true, I feel really lucky to be where I am at this point in my life and that's probably all they want to hear anyways...if they probed further I'll regale them with a story. I have a few laying around here somewhere.

Nobody recognized me... we're all members of the gray whiskered beer belly patrol now but for some reason I was able to stand right next to people and they wouldn't recognize me. Which worked out ok.

The guys sounded great... it may be hard to tell from shitty phone camera recordings...

did you want to here about the club being too small? the complete lack of organization? or how late they want on? -OR- did you want to here about the stories of personal triumph like paul, rising from the ashes of near death accident and living to become a grandpa

Well you aren't getting any of those... I wish my wife would have been there to see it but other than that everything was great.

oh wait...except there was this one dingus lighting firecrackers and throwing them into the crowd and I had him at arms length he had both his hands occupied, one with a lighter and the other with a firecracker, his back was to me and his neck was wide open. I had the rear naked choke I started closing the distance and a little voice inside me said my wife would not appreciate being woken up at four in the morning to drive three hours to cleveland to bail me out of jail...so I didn't choke him out when I had the chance, even though I should have because it was getting really hard to breath in there with all the smoke... I must be old. I never even heard that voice until I had a wife and kids.... meh the cleveland jail is a shithole anyways
