Stupid things give us something to learn from and give us something to cringe about later! 
I have regerts that are older than most of you...they come back to haunt me on a fairly regular basis...typically when I am trying to sleep but especially when I have something important that I need to wake up early for the next day... careless things...mindless things...things that I wasn't even aware I was doing at the time...so many things that I wish I could change... or have done differently.
and on the one hand, yes they all brought me here to this time and place.. which is a pretty nice place to be for a no account *** who everyone wrote off from the jump... and maybe it makes me a horrible person because the truth is that I wouldn't change a single one of them if it would jeopardize the where I am right now...
and when those rationalizations don't work...scotch.
soothing warmth... blur the memories... soften my pillow...carry me to the land of dreams... let me sleep

I get there a lot whether I make good decisions or not. I know I will always have those thoughts and feelings. In all honesty, I don't get rest from those moments unless I get the "joy" of being manic and as soon as I crash from that I get the experience all of it again.
What I can at least do is soften the blow, use my anxiety and over analysis of everything I do in a constructive way. No, it doesn't always work but at the end of the day I know I'm at least trying.
It's no secret at this point that I've been to some incredibly dark places, and that still happens from time to time. But after what I tried to do, I refuse to let one half of my brain beat the other.
It's a mini-competition between me and myself. It's like a sitcom, but with knife fights!
... Quickly, someone draw me a picture of my brain having a knife fight with itself!
