he probably owns/runs a small retail camping supply store and the clues lead you to it so you'll buy his stupid crap.
Is this the ultimate mind ***? Tell people there’s buried treasure and sit back and watch people go crazy looking for it and there really isn’t any or it’s just a picture of the guy making a weird face and flipping you off...
In any case never heard of the guy...
there was a PBS special about him after four people died looking for it.... several people have been arrested for everything from criminal trespass to grave robbing/desecrating graves

So are we taking a trip to New Mexico?
that's my guess... he lives near sante fe Elevation 7,199ft and there is a casa marron (house brown) nearby and he said someone got within 200 ft.
my guess is he would put it somewhere he could keep an eye on it.
and I think people are reading too deeply into the clues...
my guess again is that they are actual locations and either spanish or indian names for the clues he has given
but wtf do I know, I haven't found it either. and *** going to new mexico to look for it.

I started looking into it this week and got sad yesterday because I realized I'd never have the money to travel to the Rockies to attempt to find the chest so that I could have more money. ;.;

If I remember correctly he's also said that deciphering the first 2 clues puts people within about 500 feet of the spot.
he also told people to quit digging up graves after several people were arrested lmao

GOD DAMN YOU FORREST FENN!!!!
iirc he stated once that nobody had properly deciphered the first nine clues in the correct order yet....
Clue #10
The treasure is hidden higher than 5,000 feet above sea level.
Clue #11
No need to dig up the old outhouses, the treasure is not associated with any structure.
Clue #12
The treasure is not in a graveyard
Clue #13
The treasure is not hidden in Idaho or Utah
"take adequate supplies and a GPS. The chest is not in a dangerous place. Remember, it weighs 42 pounds and an old man carried it to its secret location. Keep your children close in the mountains and search at your own risk. Good luck in the chase."
which leads me to believe that you can drive there and at least one of the nine clues is a gps coordinate.
there are a lot of chat sites of different people's interpretations of the clues. don't know how many/which ones that you read though. If I remember correctly he's also said that deciphering the first 2 clues puts people within about 500 feet of the spot.
He's also said that he did it all within a single afternoon and 2 trips, so it can't be more than what... 45 mins from some location where you park your car?
Also remember the Kingdom of Ni expects a cut for its treasurey.

far, far too many. my stupid idea checks all the boxes, and he said the main point of the deal was to get people / kids outside. so even if I find nothing, I've at least got out camping / fishing in the mountains for a week, which is a win anyhow. PM'ing you the spot now. if you gain confidence in my idea and beat me there, you owe me 1 gold coin.
It seems to fulfill the "where warm waters halt" and the "put in at the home of Brown" but I think one could find MANY points that solve the WWWH, so the trick is just getting absurdly lucky on where you pick your "WWWH". so yeah, idk. I think it'd be fun no matter how the actual treasure hunt went.

Morning all. I hope it finds you well.
I'm gonna find that treasure if my wife is down, yo. If not, I'll at least have gotten wasted in the rockies for a couple days. haha YEAH! how lax are their gun laws? I wonder if my 16 rnd mags are illegal there.... and should probably research some other fun things to do in the area when I strike out in 15 minutes. hmmmmm.... this is going to be costly... GOD DAMN YOU FORREST FENN!!!!
I throw my caution into ye mighty bonfire today! damn the man! damn reasonable thought! to the mountains!

Sugar Britches said: To be fair to myself I had forgotten urial existed at the time...
I got him confused with Row until Mosin stared at me like I was a dumbass for ten minutes.
/shrug
They'll never let him back into Georgia now anyways so he is Narnian scum like the rest of you heathens.

That's damn good advice, my babysitting policy to date has been, 'sorry, I've been drinking, better ask someone else.' Just move to a different state like me.
No. That's way too much work.
Also, if in order to move "like you" it would require going to Joklahomo... Thanks for the offer, but I'm going to have to pass.
still can't believe that you did it after the relentless berating we gave urinal To be fair to myself I had forgotten urial existed at the time...

I should start taking pictures of their adventures.

YOU'RE HIRED!
PARKER never did figure out how to work a camera....
as evidenced by the picture of Mosin and my historic first meeting....

I feel like for Misa and Meshi's updates I should start taking pictures of their adventures. Otherwise I feel the humor may only be in my head.
|
|
 |
|
he's still on presidential sabbatical... I think...
meshi and the stark raving jelly mad professor magnus have both been gone over a year...
it's been a couple months since remo posted...
I saw a wild spence over in rt not too long ago...
/checks his underarm smell
maybe it's me...
/shrug *shuffles some papers around on his desk*
Ah that's right I forgot to provide updates.
*picks up a stack of the papers and begins leafing through them*
Misa is... Punching things. Many things. He's enjoying punching things.
Meshi is working in the salt mines and learning the joy of owning a fairy.
Mag is... *squints* Oh Mag's PC bit the dust and he's moving to Wisconsin relatively soon.
And that is the Spath Report.
*takes down a bottle of scotch and begins drinking straight from the bottle*
