I love food, and love making food, so I thought it would be fun to make a thread about it! Post what you've been making lately, or eatting, or even some recipes!

Last night we had some Louisiana Gumbo with shrimp and andouille sausage, and for desert we made this amazing chocolate cake :D

I recommend using the Chocolate-butter icing with it too, it's delicious!

Today I made some Chocolate truffles which were pretty cool and I made a Lasagne 2-3 days ago which I ate for supper tonight again.

It was the first time I'd made truffles and I followed this recipe:



As for Lasagne I've made it a few times but I don't use mushrooms as they are nasty.

i love making food too!

i love tying to figure out recipes that haven't been widely tried

and also trying to reproduce favorite restaurant dishes with my brother

sort of... a food experimenter if you will?

sometimes my experiments meet with success, sometimes with colossal failure

i'd say i've got like a 90%ish failure rate unless i'm only doing a small twist on an existing recipe

trying to think up completely new dishes is a risky business!

when i was in the army we had one guy who used to manage a pretty nice hotel restaurant, and if we brought him his requested ingredients, he would make us awesome food

and i used to tag along and try to leech his secrets

you food experimenters should find out how to make pinot grigio chicken for me... romano's macaroni grill used to have it but they discontinued it and everything else there isn't as good so i don't eat there anymore :(

i'm sorta basing it off eastern nc style barbecue, except with buffalo sauce and chicken where you would normally have the roast pig/pepper-vinegar sauce

only time shall tell whether shredding or thinslicing is more conducive to the dish :o

that and we're doing a thing where we soak it in southern comfort and broil it for about 5 minutes before applying the buffallo sauce

and the shredding is definitely favorable for maximum absorption
