I low-key loved this part about OG BST leveling. I spent a year behind Garlaige Citadel Banish Gate#2, just charming beetles and killing Bombs. Some days, I'd do it for 30 minutes between classes. It was very fun to pick up and go / kill a few / logout as my free time allowed.

It was the main reason I leveled bst. I'd logout at the camp, login and XP for 30min-1hr and log back out.

Going back to the cities felt like a chore that you had to do to buy food or reraise scrolls and always sucked to have to trek back out there again.

Cape Terrigan was my favourite for this, nice open spaces, good scenery, goblins that blew up nicely.

Upper Delkfut's tower.. man I spent waaaaaaaaay too long up there for lack of better XP camps. Had a good time laughing at a rdm and nin couple that tried and failed to kill Alkyoneus that I could solo with pets at a lower level than them.

Then the snowy mountain region came out and had bombs you could kill for a while before they removed them for whatever reason.

FU SE for ruining bst. /bitter

arguably if anyone had any real brags, it'd likely be the ballista royale prizes (laurel crown / custom promathia pc), but that'd be limited to... what, 12 (or 6 for the latter?) people who played in 2005?

Looking them up, it seems like all of the JP team quit between 2008~2013 and one of them apparently showed up again in august '25, US team's also long gone.

I don't think many people on this planet have failed to get a drop from Cargo Crab Colin as many times and across as many years as I have, but I'd love to be proven wrong. That said I never tracked attempt numbers so I wouldn't even know for sure.

Now I know these were made probably year or so earlier than we did by the crazy hyper dedicated JP player base that beat us to everything back in the day.... I won't discredit or take away their achievement aura, but as for NA Registered on FFXIAH, unless anyone can find an earlier NA FFXIAH Registered Koga GK Mythic ever made.. These are the first three registered that I found on FFXIAH!! If anyone finds any NA players that made it and registered earlier on FFXIAH.com I stand corrected!

We all Finished in the same month of July 2012:

1st NA: Iarumas (Returned to Retail FFXI recently. Also a Twitch Streamer!)
2nd NA: Syto
3rd NA: Ejinn (Now Youtuber/Twitch Streamer Pro)

I join my brothers Ejinn and Iarumas to the First Three NA-FFXIAH Registered Mythic Kogarasumaru GK Race! This was back when it was worth 4 billion gil to make if you were buying Alexandrite at 30-40k each as it was priced back then.. lol.. With Einherjar being time locked to once every 3 days, and could only be done with alliance at level 75.. You had to be punctual and never miss an LS Event that could clear all three waves and Odin without a loss!!

After that, I couldn't keep up the pace of gameplay due to RL and Ejinn dominated the speed to finish every other GK created by SE after Koga for NA player base..

Fun and thrilling Race to the finish line!!

All three of us are still playing to this day as Iarumas has returned to Retail and back on Asura as well..

Shout out to all my SAM brothers out there including Ejinn and Iarumas, and Banrai, Taint and good old Beard (Enochroot)!!! ^_^)y

Not to brag or anything, but I still own a functional Vana'diel clock! It seems that after 20+ years the corresponding times are a little off but it's great otherwise. Sadly, the sound chip in it gave out a while ago and I don't know anything about fixing something like that.

I have this too! I'm afraid to disassemble it. I wish someone would make an updated/3D-Printed version with a nice 3.5" LCD display. Also make nation-specific stickers for the buttons.

Edit: Seriously, any takers? I guess an FFXI desk/alarm clock is redundant in 2025. :/

Was the first on Bis to craft a Cursed Breastplate -1, and AFAIK the first person to craft a Moonlight Nodowa across any server.

Anyone on the server that used an Outpost Warp can thank me too for assisting in that Twinkling Treant ***.

That reminds me of the joy when we invaded Ronfaure to get the last OP warp for Windurst.

Having all the outpost warps felt like living in the future in 2004.

My RL friend created a linkshell of the random people during this event, we all met when we killed the Twinkling Treant for our server (Ragnarok) so we called the LS "TheTreantAlliance". Good times. I miss these kinds of server-wide goals / competitions.

I made a Moonbow Belt +1 <3 weeks after release, long before shields. I probably wasn't the first, but it was pretty early.

youngest person in my play group, and to this day I can make them feel old.

RICHY! my kid is 3yrs old now! see I just did it, it's that easy.

Also this one time in dyna, I prevented a wipe on pup. I think I must have been /sch or something I swapped my auto to whm mid combat and manage to stay alive while everyone died, got them all up afterwards.

I used to be able to do build swap very fast, now I am lazy and just use an addon.

but of course... woc... sucks... so... bad.... if i got a swart every time i lost to soul voice or benediction spam id be able to go from r0 to r15 for a single rema.
Wind damage prevents Benediction or Invincible once you proc it before bracelet mode. I'd recommend taking the first 5-10mins proccing the SPs without pushing to 60% and ensure either of those are white procced with Wind damage THEN push to bracelet mode.
Ice damage prevents Soul voice after the initial use (or use Wind damage to proc Call Wyvern before bracelet mode and Soul voice can never be used during Bracelet mode).

The first 5-10 mins of a WoC solo is playing it slow preventing SPs that can be used during Bracelet mode since that is where he is most dangerous with up to triple SP back to back. Then it's a chip away after.

Hope this helps and I believe in the W.
hey, your advice of focusing more on proc compared to dps helped, Soloed WoC on BLU/RDM with 1:34 left (the ONE time i dont record..)

i'm too stupid to figure out how to post photos so this is the best i can do

Waiting for Odyssey with Inquisition there were someone I know from GhostRiders that was in baby behemoth costume, I think was Kittylicious, going moo in /say, so I asked in if Behemoth goes Moo?

She said yes so I ask "what does the fox say?" and got that song stuck in her head. So that's my humble brag.

Ohh! Another time one of my friend need to get passed the three mages gate, they said we need 3 mages to goes through the gate. I was like, well why don't we try anyway with us 2. Went on my smn, step into all the circles, none of them lighted up. Told my friend damn, i guess smn doesn't work.

They were like "see i told you so", then i said, "let me try pure awesomeness" and click on the door and opened it with my portal charm. I already changed my nation back to Sandy after finishing Windy Rank 10 mission so that made it more dramatic lol.

Nice, I have no idea why they removed the ability to add more than 4. How'd you do it?
