I watched MTV when they played music videos. About the only TV I watched then. Don't remember any of the VJ though.

Daly was from the late 90s/early 00s while they were busy killing off the "music" portion of the station, and was a complete and utter douche.

I continue to be in awe when I see this un-entertaining douche on television and how he manages to continue to fail upward. I remember he got his start winning a stupid contest on MTV where people sent video tapes in and kids voted on the next Veejay. I look at him amazed asking "How doesn't everyone in the World see what I see when I look at this ***?"

Like Hillary Clinton.

Took too long to get to the punchline - you're trying too hard. Just relax, let the joke happen on its own. Trust the joke.

I do agree with Aman though but TV has been trending downward with the advent of reality TV and trying to turn every station into a bulging mass of cancerous reality TV.

I don't always American Ninja Warrior but when I do it involves listening to a sob story before the contestant fails two obstacles in.

Like Hillary Clinton.

Possibly a more apt comparison than you realize.

It's not that anyone likes him, or her. Just that s/he reminds them of times they liked better and maybe they'll keep a piece of that alive.

CNN’s Cuomo comes right out and admits it: ‘We couldn’t help Hillary any more than we have’

“We couldn’t help her any more than we have, she’s got just a free ride so far from the media, we’re the biggest ones promoting her campaign, so it had better happen."

To be fair, Fox has done the same for Trump. Additionally, it's to be expected that Democrats put the Democratic candidate first. Sanders was only a Democrat on ticket, he left the party as soon as he officially lost the nomination.

If Republicans and the GOP are the party of get 'er done, capitalism, work hard, play hard why aren't they the ones who control all the medias?

Why are the best comedians considered to be mostly liberal?
Why can't the GOP wrest from Dems the media *and* the podium of satire and comedy?

Left-minded individuals seem to be a lot more likely to pursue the arts. Even if that weren't the case, there is an iron grip that a few few have over all media.

Because the Left is the channeling 1984 and controlling speech, limiting what can be said through political pressure and fake outrage. Trump is a result of the rest of the nation fighting back. It's getting to the point where the media is becoming a joke and even liberal comedians are coming out and saying how ridiculous the PC culture has become.

The GOP may never completely wrest control, but the media is starting to self-destruct and destroy its own legitimacy.

It is similar. And Dodd-Frank went a long way to eliminate smaller competition.

I'm sure if we looked into it enough there are laws lobbied by large media conglomerates that make it very difficult for upstarts to compete in media or show-business.

This whole primary has been a race to the bottom for every institution involved. The media's been particularly prone to lighting itself on fire lately, but both major parties have had some catastrophic damage done to them through this thing.

The DNC survived a more-robust-than-it-should-have-been challenge from Sanders drumming up grassroots socialism - and then got hacked by the Russians!

The GOP elites have completely lost control of the party. They still can't bring their Presidential nominee to heel, even slightly. There have been more than a few rumblings of independent bids (which will accomplish nothing) and noticeable bleeding of poll numbers to Johnson.

I'm dying to see who actually comes out of all this as something more than a smoking wreck.

Youtube - and the net in general - has actually been something of an equalizer here, but once you get too big, you're right - productions of size start falling prey to union regulations, depending on what exactly you're trying to do.

This has all been a very good thing. I look at Trump's candidacy and I sincerely see it as the final chance, ever, to get an outsider elected. After this election, if he loses, the Republicans will absolutely clamp down on their Primary process and they won't be shy about it. You think the Super Delegates in the Democrat party are going to go away after Bernie Sanders this year? Not a chance. There will be more Super Delegates. If Bernie didn't cave so easily and if almost all of his supporters didn't sheepishly flock to Hillary, maybe there would have been a chance. It is big party Democrats and big party Republicans from now until the end of America.

Everyone should be on board with his candidacy. Years from now when you are crying and bitching about the two party system you have no one to blame but yourself if you supported Hillary. A one-term Presidency is a very small gamble in a system of checks and balances and divided government.

Oh sure, I can definitely see the GOP pulling out of its self inflicted downward spiral and winning the Presidency against an incumbent, /sarcasm.
They aren't just going to pull it all together and win back all of the US citizens they have worked hard to alienate. The US doesn't need an outsider, and we definitely don't need a corrupt outsider. Hillary isn't losing in '20,

His point is the opposite - that a four year Trump presidency is worth it to break the stranglehold of the elites, even if you don't like his policies (because of checks/balances).

Banks buy both parties to get everything they want.

They charge 20 percent on credit cards.

When you buy a home they charge you .75-1.5 + off the cost. You buy a home for them.

On top of these, if you have cash, the give you less interest payments than inflation.

I can't say enough how I hate bankers.
