I've been trying to think of a good shield for RDM. I've been thinking about using an Ice Shield or a Tariqah. But the Acheron Shield also looks very good to me. But then again there is also the Viking Shield which gives some extra attack. As a RDM on a budget, I can't afford all of them so I'm trying to figure which to get.

Genbu's shield.

/endthread.

But seriously, there's no reason to use anything but that.

Edit: Bah Row beat me to it.

I'm a personal fan of Genbu's Shield BUT if you're not actually getting HIT, Sentinel Shield is very nice.

I said lolGenbu for a reason. You could solo him given 30-45 minutes or so but I decided to play it safe.

Pain in the *** if he doesn't drop, though. While you're working on getting it to drop, go with the Muse or Sentinel

Bio III speeds it up sooo much. So does a duo partner, all the more reason to bring a BLM with you.

Zip will bash his lv 67 RDM's face in and I am guessing acquiring a water or even if he bought 1 Olla would have his way with the lower lv RDM also.

If you can buy the pop items you have a decent chance of making your gil back and possibly getting the shield.

But yea the only way you can lose to Genbu is if you don't know the kiting path or straight tank it and he get off some horrific double attack that manages to hit you.

Anyone (I repeat, ANYONE) with any form ofranged damage can solo Genbu. Even DRG can win throwing those frisbee things from IS.

Derp, didn't even notice he's not 75. Zippy's not a huge cockblock given SCH75 (Desert Boots + Sandstorm), Olla potentially presents enough of a problem without experience handling that fight lowman that buying the pop item isn't a bad idea. As noted, you stand a good chance to make that money back.

Genbu? Given time, absolutely. Ionohelix would probably be good DoT with a strong INT build. Zippy too, as I said earlier... Olla is doable but potentially annoying as hell due to the magic shield move.

I haven't tried zip in awhile but he still kicks my *** as 75rdm ; ;

Granted I upgraded a lot of gear, but I still need a lot of merits first.

Having 5/5 on ice macc helps a lot since you'll be using a lot of bind.

But on a serious note: Just go to Genbu pop and hang out there till an LS shows up. I can almost guarantee you that if it is an older LS or even a newer one, people may not even want the shield. They may be doing Genbu solely for their BLMs for some zenith mitts. Ask for the shield if it is FL or just pay some cheap gil.

^ This

A lot of times if it's a sky ls that has been around for any length of time at all chances are that the majority of the shell either a) already has the shield or b) couldn't care less about it. You might luck up and help an ls kill it and in return if it's FL they let you lot on it. Not that they'll probably actually need the help, mind you, but hey you might get lucky.

Been using the Genesis Shield on my RDM alt.

The Matamata Shield looks good too. Well as good as RDMs get to use....
