Also I consider this test pretty good, as long as you consider the result a starting point rather than a conclusion to all about you.

There are also % though which means those like Spicy that have everything close to 50% will get results all over the place, while people that like me got overwhelming dominance of one characteristic over another will stay the same at every reiteration.

As an aside, I indulge in (auto)biographies of former Scientologists and Children of God members. How people get from point "A" to point "B" in their willingness to believe things is beyond fascinating. (Not at all saying this is cult-like, before someone jumps the damn shark.) Anyway, it's not like some of Jung's other brain children haven't had holes poked in them, despite this one being carried off.

i got whatever the debater one is. however, i still feel like this test is silly. i think a lot of people tend to latch on to the parts they like to try and reaffirm their own mental image. i have had to deal with a lot of this stuff from "spiritual chicks" over the last few years. all the damn "what your name/birthday/nose/bigtoe says about you" books. if i get another person saying, "omg this is sooo you"... i'm gonna scream.


i try to make an honest assessment of myself in every interaction and decision i have. i don't need something like this to tell me i'm an assertive at times control freak. when i want something i get it, but most of the time i'm content with whatever. so even though a test like this picks up a small part of who i am, it by no means comes close to scratching the surface of my definition.


*edit* my last gf spent a week trying to explain to me why my being a libra and her being a aeries made us an ideal match. after a week of eye rolling i still believed that the qualities she found from them had little to do with our chemistry.

So, lately I've been studying this thing a lot. It started cause a friend asked me to explain it to her but I figured in order to do so I had to dive deeper into it...and dive I did!

Ignore the 16personality quiz that we have all done in this thread. It's very popular, but it's also very bad at getting accurate results in many cases.
The thing is the 4 letters are actually just a synthesis of cognitive functions which every type uses in different waysThe way they are stacked(dominant, auxiliary, tertiary, inferior - alternating between introverted and extraverted functions)can give some incredibly accurate personality assessments of a person.

Mind you, this has no clinical value and psychologists will kill you over it, but this is still immensely useful at least for people like me. As an aspie I've always had extra trouble when trying to understand others and why they do what they do - now that I've studied the functions I find myself a lot more capable of navigating through other people's minds and reasons, it has made me more perceptive, less dismissive(though I still have nothing but contempt for stupid people - it's part of being INTJ!)and more appreciative of people that have different minds from mine(but not for ESTP). I'm even pretty good at "typing" people from simple observation now!(I do it with many fictional characters for fun).

For a quick reference at how every type is stacked in terms of functions:I could go more in depth about each type but unless someone gives a damn I'll leave it like this for now.

Reading back I had to delete a comment where I jokingly(and I insist I was joking)said I was looking to date an ENTP. Knowing better now I would probably punch the ENTP at the first argument.
