So, it seems to work exactly the same as Drain II, except it drains roughly 30%-50% more. With no gear on, it did roughly 800, and with all my gear and Nether Void (but no weapon enhancing it), it did about 3200. Both tests were on TWs, with no weather, day, or MDT influence.

4:00 cooldown, 53 MP cost.

Does it stack with Drain II? Guessing it doesn't, else Tanaka-san would be rolling in his proverbial grave.

They overwrite each other, just like when casting Drain II over itself, and the duration is still the same.

Max HP boost is a single effect. As far as I know, you can't have multiple max HP boost effects, hence it doesn't work with cruor buffs.

Sry if this completely wrong been long time since drk was my main, I can remember in the past if you used drain2 and it did not gain enough to add to max Hp you didn't get that effect and it wouldent overwrite other maxhp status effects, can you drain 3 then when missing a good chunk use drain 2 to recover hp or will it just overwrite the hp+ effect?

It won't overwrite if it doesn't give you more than your current max HP. For example:

You have 2000 HP, and you Drain III for 2000, giving you 4000 max HP.

After that, if you're at 1500/4000 HP, and you Drain II for 1000, you will have 2500/4000 HP.

If instead you're at 3500/4000 HP, and you Drain II for 1000, you will have 2500/2500 HP.

Yes, this means that Draining can lower your HP if you're not careful.

Not sure if there is any info about this already but I've tested and can confirm that HP%+ food (and gear, I assume) stacks with drain III allowing us DRK's to break the 9999 hp cap. I doubt this is game breaking by any means but it sure is purdy.

Sorry for necrobumping such an old thread but the thread title is more fitting for this info than the drain potency thread, I think(?)

Thats cool to know because it shows you that 9999 and 99k dmg etc like we think are not caps and probably will be adjusted easily in the future for updates when we have ilv199 etc lol.

99% sure we've known this since the late Abyssea days. I know I've seen some 10k+ HP screenshots before.
