Hi I was reading that the meditate +time effects don't stack and some other info that threw me off. Does anyone have a list of what basic gear is good for a samurai?

I have plenty of chapters to start upgrading I just don't want to get things I wont use. ( I made the mistake of getting a LOT of monk gear +1 that I will never use :( ) Obviously Meditate is good and I don't know what else. I am new to Samurai.

Thanks :)

ya I have all the +1 skirmish gear because I play mnk, with +2 dbl attack augment it seems to be the best gear sam can possibly use for tp build.

I should have asked more specifically which job specific gear is a MUST have? Because I got the full AF/RELIC for monk and I later found that I rarely use most of it. But if it is a useful macro piece you use a lot then I will go for it. Obviously the meditate piece, but what else is a must have?

Well, on the topic of AF and Relic:

AF:

Head - There's really not much reason to upgrade this further than its base form. The meditate enhancement isn't increased even at the 119 version, but Phoenix Feathers and Maliya Orbs are dirt cheap so go for it if you like white boxes.
Body - TP piece used in many sets at the moment, but I suspect it will be replaced by Relic 119 in the future. I'd wait on upgrading this if you don't already have it.
Hands - Pretty much a staple in all TP sets with Hasso up.
Legs - Used for uncapped ratio Fudo/Kaiten. Best for Namas/Apex. Otronif Brais +1 with DA augments would be best for Shoha/capped Fudo/Kaiten if you have them, otherwise these would be pretty much your staple WS legs unless you needed accuracy. Also may be used in a couple TP sets.
Feet - Namas/Apex and accuracy for TP set.

Relic:

Head - Namas Arrow and it can also fit in a couple TP sets, but it's not really a substantial upgrade.
Hands - Meditate enhancement is not increased from the Lv.90 version, but they're your best PDT hands. I'd recommend keeping AF119 in hybrid sets, however.
Feet - Best WS piece for all Great Katana weapon skills. Niche use in TP sets.

I'm positive the Relic 119 body will replace AF119 body whenever it gets released, and the legs will just be for Seigan use.

In short, in my opinion, the "must-have" AF/Relic pieces would be AF Head(Base or 119)/Hands/Legs, Relic Hands/Feet. AF Body would also be listed in there, but it's up to you if you wanna make it even though it probably won't be used for much longer.
