I posted this on the BG crafting RQT, but it doesnt get attention that often, so I'll ask here too.

I've tried breaksynthing Breidox on my 102 smithing mule, and I went 0/16 on skillups. I know such an occurrence is possible, but at that point I'd rather ask.

I just did 4 levels of goldsmithing using break synthing and didn't have any issues. Are you within 5 levels of the item cap. on main craft? Probably just a bad run :/

breidox is 103 smithing, unless I'm mistaken (or its been changed), I should be getting smithing skills like this, even if my wood is vastly underlvled.

just got my first skill after 19 synths :x

I did the same thing yesterday with bronze and got more breaking than crafting. I used food this time and got this all the way to 18.

Yah I was doing that yesterday, just saying the skillup rate was just as good as that today.
