Ok so i have WW 100. This was great when ammo was a fairly easy profit and with RNG lvled it was an ideal craft, now with the recycle update it will become more and more useless. i have been hoping for a looong time now that SE would revitalise WW in some way but as usual they just kill it more and more.

Anyway.. i have been looking at other crafts to lvl. My main jobs i guess are RNG, THF and BST. i can make enough ammo in a few days to last me a few years with the new recycle update and my GF has Cooking lvled so i dont need to worry about pets/food. I was considering Bonecraft for the Kheper/Khepri set Hexed items but as they are not all bonecraft i am unsure exactly what to do. Im not after banging out HQs for profit, its more a case of trying for HQs for myself.

Anyone else delvled a craft in favor of another, if so what did you have and what did you go for. Do you think i should wait until the next expansion (incase they add a ton of new synths) or should i just cut my losses and delvl it now?

Currently, the main craft to make money on is smithing. Alot of good synths you can T1 such as Armadaberk and Cursed Breastplates -1 which both fetch a good amount. However, alot of people have recently been switching over to these and you continue to see a decrease in profit because supply goes up and demand goes down. I don't really see crafting as being a way to make gil for very much longer unless they add a sizeable amount of synths in the next expansion. Hexed gear is going to become even more uncommon because less people will be doing VW, legion, and Provenance watcher (the places the hexed mats drop from) which means less mats available.

Crafting is all about being ahead of the times. Your guess as is good as mine as to if SE is going to add more synths or more ways to get the hexed mats and which craft that is going to benefit. You also have to think that with the salvage update and the new expansion, there are going to be better options than armadaberk and cursed breastplate -1 out there for those war/drks to TP in.

I have a mule with leathercraft 101.5. Forever, LC was all about Dusk gloves or bust. There really wasn't many other options out there for LCers for the longest time. The same holds true today, its pretty much Phos' Belt or hexed gear or bust (Which its all huge losses if you NQ or break). You can however buy hides, turn them into leathers, and put them up on AH for like 5k more than the hides cost. While that is profit and considering you can only put up 7 items up on AH at a time, to me, it isnt even worth my time.

Im sure if i really tried i could make my Leathercraft mule profitable after pumping in about 75mil gil to finish up getting it to 110 and getting all the guild point items along with getting Shaper's Shawl (Gutted from Matsya). 75mil is a very very conservative estimate considering the hexed syths to skillup on are huge losses because the NQ versions on all hexed gear are pratically worthless.

Forgot to mention: My suggestion to you is to take all your subcrafts to level 70. Most are pretty cheap to take up that way if you decide to switch crafts, you will be that much closer. Clothcraft for example cost me like 200k to go from 60-70.

Also, fish you up some matsya and go for shaper's shawl. With Shaper's Shawl, you would save so much gil leveling something up to 110.

If you are looking to make HQ's for yourself, then bonecrafting is probably best for you considering your jobs. One thing you can consider is doing another craft to make the gil to buy the HQ's. If you do this, the first thing you should look at when deciding which craft is your competition. Competing against auction house bots, the wealthy, and/or many people buying an item because they all have the same craft is stressful and most can't stick with it. Material prices get driven up and can be harder to obtain, then resale prices plummet of the items crafted. All crafts have these issues, but each server is different.
