# Puppetmaster

* Attachment-related
o Maximum effect values for the following attachments will now increase in proportion to the number of active maneuvers:

Strobe / Inhibitor / Steam Jacket / Auto-Repair Kit II

o The required capacity of the following attachments has been reduced from 2 to 1:

Reactive Shield / Scope / Schurzen / Volt Gun

o The properties of the following attachments have been revised:

Attachment Name Revised Properties
Reactive Shield Counterattack damage will now receive a bonus in proportion to frame skill level.
Mana Booster Will now shorten casting time instead of increasing spell use frequency.
Drum Magazine Accuracy penalty has been eased slightly, and attack speed raised.
Replicator Blink shadow quantity will now increase in proportion to the number of active Wind Maneuvers.
Shock Absorber Damage absorbed will now receive a bonus based on frame skill and active Ice Maneuvers.
Armor Plate
Armor Plate +2 Will now reduce physical damage taken rather than enhancing defense.
Hammermill Shield Bash will now always hit while Hammermill is equipped.
Volt Gun Will no longer depend on enemy level, and a damage bonus will be granted based on frame skill level and active Thunder Maneuvers.
Heatsink Overload rate reduction will now apply to all maneuvers, not only Fire Maneuvers.
Damage Gauge Recast time for curing magic will be shortened.
Eraser Will cure multiple status ailments and erase only Light Maneuvers.

* Automaton-related

Name: versionup1215_18.jpg Views: 0 Size: 32.6 KB
o Automaton behavior patterns have been refined.
+ With one active light maneuver, automatons will now prioritize HP recovery over curing status ailments.
Automatons will also prioritize HP recovery when HP level is extremely low.
o Magic spells have been added/adjusted as follows:
+ Separate recast timers have been established for each category of magic, such as enhancing or enfeebling spells.
*Cure-type spells, Regen-type spells, and status ailment removal spells will each have their own recast timer.
+ Automatons may now learn the following spells:

Protect (I-V) / Shell (I-V) / Stoneskin / Haste / Phalanx / Erase / Absorb-Attri / Dispel / Dread Spikes / Addle / Regen IV
*Phalanx and Stoneskin will only be cast upon the master.
*Protect, Shell, and Haste will only be cast upon the master and party members.

+ Level IV elemental spells have been unlocked for the Stormwaker Y-700.
+ Automatons will now occasionally cast Cure V instead of Cure VI depending on the target's current HP.
o Weapon skill adjustments
+ A minimum damage value has been established for Magic Mortar.
o Sharpshot Z-500 adjustments:
+ Distance modifications for ranged attacks have been abolished.

* Master-related
o The job ability "Maintenance" (Lv. 30 / Recast time: 90 seconds) has been added:
+ This ability will require Automaton Oil, and will be effective on all status ailments curable by Erase and Na-type spells.
+ Up to four status ailments may be removed depending on the type of Automaton Oil used.
*To accompany this change, the new item Automaton Oil +3 (Lv. 80) has been added.

What do you pups think?
I think the magic timers separate for different types of magic is awesome and all the different spells wow.
Seems it was the perfect time to get Kenkonken :)

Everything had already been posted actually...but anyway, after playing with new Soulsoother on test server let me tell you that it's beyond amazing.
And armor plate is pretty awesome too now.

yeah, thats the one thing I loved from the test server, the PUP AI is sooooo much better.

it's so nice having the puppet actually do things like heal you when you're in red HP other then... say try to silence a non magic monster :/

Yes, he can basically cast enhancing, enfeebling and healing back to back. Ie: he just casted haste and you need heals, he will cure you instantly.

Stoneskin and Phalanx are only RDM frame in case you're trying to get WHM frame to cast it. Water maneuver promps enhancing.

Really enjoying toying with my auto while farming LB items. He continually casts stoneskin during the fights and promptly renews phalanx and haste. Very very nice. Just have to decide between stormwaker and soulsoother for buffs vs -na's/erase. Can't wait to play with melee frames.

Anyone else having a problem with the automaton buffing party members? I used a water maneuver, but that just promps poison II... Or will only the RDM frame buff party members?

WHM frame never buffed party members yesterday despite a variety of maneuvers up, thinking it's not possible.
Haven't tried rdm frame yet.

WHM frame casted haste 2 times on a pt member yesterday. Looks like the puppet don´t really wanna cast spells to other members (cept cure, regen and -na spells).

The A.I. for buffing other party members seems to be the same as before the Update, but it is applied to every enhancing magic now.

Try this, this is how I got it to buff my duo partner. Just let him have hate, then Use Water manuever, deploy. It'll buff him. It casted Pro/shell V, Regen IV, then haste on my friend.

Just to support the other folks replying, my soulsoother would often cast enhancing magic primarily on whoever had hate and then cast on me. There's a lot of crap they can cast now, so maybe you're just not seeing it cast on others because it never finishes its cycle of spells for the primary target in the queue (the master in whatever case).

I didn't see stormwaker cast on anyone else, since I only played with it solo. But that frame keeping phalanx and stoneskin up on me is just awesome as all sin (vivi-valve is a must though).

My puppet yesterday was casting a lot on party members. I think it will cast on a party member if they are fighting the same mob as you and after your puppet has done your buffs first. I only had 2 light maneuvers up whenever I saw it happen but i could be wrong this is just my idea of it and what I observed.

It could be hate related.

In a party with a NIN and a COR. When I don't engage it will fully buff the NIN, even Haste. If I do engaged it will still buff the NIN but do me first.

Couldn't get it to buff the COR at all, even with the COR attacking.

COR never top of hate list though.

So an earth attachment needs Ice maneuvers to work, eh?

Because Sqenix can't just GIVE us a proper working AI system without messing up the basics of puppetry!

I was messing around with my new AI auto, when soloing some merits in altepa. Let me tell ya. The AI Adjustment is a GOD SEND. LOVE IT! I think I love the fact that it casts erase without the maneuver more than anything lol. I haven't tooled around with rdm hat yet for phalanx/SS, but that sounds fun too.

How's the rdm head for soloing though? Does it have decent cures with vivi on? And is the phalanx/SS worth the lack of big cure and -na?
