Placeholder Until Masamune

I'm currently working my way to Amano and Masa, but need something in the meantime. I've got a Asa-arashi and Scathacha on hand. Question is, which would serve me better?

Asa with its 105 damage and Conserve TP +5

OR

Sca with its 91 damage, Str +5, and GK skill +3?

Can get this off Orthrus

I'd take the one with DMG+14, but really;

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. Problem is getting it. Currently shell-less after being gone for a while.

Buy the NQ pop items from AH. Start a shout group and offer the orthrus claws/+2 items (lock the GKT obviously). Ask everyone who comes to bring their own pops. You should get one pretty quickly this way.

So buy pops for Amarok, get key item pop for Orthrus, kill Orthrus, get GK.

dont for get blue proc, which you may need a little help with

Tp bonus GK from ToM, but you could build stage 1 masa in about the same time with a few friends or dual/tri boxing it.

Could get 80 masa faster than tp bonus gkt to max level, masa to 85 would probably take a bit longer than tp bonus gkt to max, if you have a trio group helping with cara\cc vs solo tp bonus

I'd just go to Grauberg, do a few Dom Ops great katanas until you get one that isn't completely ***, and use it for the couple of days you might need it until your 85 Masamune.

I've already done Carabosse/CC for my Armageddon, Caladbolg and my wife's Armageddon. We might just do it twice more for Masamunes for both of us for the hell of it just because it's so stupidly easy and we still need +2 items for our less-played jobs because the first two times we did it were before they put +2 items on Carabosse.

I even have Amano and I might do one just to have Masamune, too.

It really is that easy.

Is amano a suitable placeholder until masamune?
