I was thinking about some gear choices to make, and was wondering if the ffxiah community could help me instead of lfp and parse it.

question is;
TP'ing in pole grip and hachi hands (no usu yet) for 6hit
or
TP'ing in rose strap, attila's earring, and dusk gloves for 6hit.
(have rajas and brutal)

the main change is pole to rose for tp and ws, and bushi to attila's for tp.

Does anyone know if a 3% gain in haste would out weigh the 2% loss in DA during the tp phase? the loss of acc from bushi is not as important as I have full gk merits and quite and bit acc already. This is hypothetical, but if it proves to be a better alternative to hachi hands(even for the sake of looking better), then I will probably invest some time to make the changes.

TP in Pole grip and Hachi hands is what I did until I got Usukane. You get an attack bonus while under 100%TP with the hachiman hands, which, I know is lol at best, but I found double attack procing a lot when subbing war :P. Though, if you're subbing NIN, use the rose strap + Dusk. That's MY opinion.

Actually the pole grip helps you more when you'r \nin than when you'r \war >_> lol
But 3% haste will be better by far.
Hachi hands atk bonus is when you have OVER 100tp.

wiki says attack bonus is over 100% tp. double attack will proc a lot /war, but the gain you get from pole grip, either alone or in addition to da from elsewhere, will be less than what you'd get from 3% haste.

Is it? I swore it was under 100%. Anyways, I guess the real reason I used hachiman hands +1 is because I didn't have a rajas at that time. Now, my sam is pretty pro.

Personally, when I /nin or /dnc, I don't even use a pole grip. I use platinum grip +1. Because chances are, if I'm /nin, a random stun can't hurt, and the acc helps because that mob is most likely high level!

Look at it like this:
+2 Double attack is MAXIMUM 2% increase in "attack speed".
+3% Haste is MINIMUM 3% increase.
Only time you should use platinum over pole is when you use soboro

Very true, but you aren't just giving up 2% DA. You're losing 1 earring slot aswell, which could house either a Bushi, a Brutal, or some random Acc+ Earring maybe.

Should use that acc+4 stp+1 ring over stp+1 earring.
Acc+4 + gkt skill +5 = more acc than an acc+7 ring. :P

not sure what ring you use to tp (since ffxi got your current shot with ws gear), but a good non-usukane setup for 6 hit is Rose-Strap, Raja's, Brutal earring and Ecphoria ring.

This way you can keep haste gear (like hands, feet) and can still have Bushinomimi equiped. (and not use that earring what gives noting more then 1 stp, the ring atleast gives 4 acc "back" from 5 or 7 whatever ou have equiped there

While you do make a point, earring shoulda never been the slot to swap to begin with. Ecphoria ring is the answer here.

well already have the earring and I sold my ecphoria ring a long time ago.

also the loss of bushi does not affect my acc (at least on merit mobs) as it is capped, but you do have a point as I don't merit with a GK, but HNMs and such will benefit from the additional acc. Guess I do have some messing around to do.

You could always use a ghetto 6hit, meaning you WS in more STP for TP overflow so it will catch up during TP phase. This would give you a 6hit 95% of the time however, but if you somehow got hit after missing the WS then you're back on track, also with meditate it numbs this 5% down somewhat.
