War is only at lvl31 but i have been lfp daily trying to get it up as fast as possible, I havent really used /nin at all been going /mnk for boost, counter, and max hp. What I'm wondering is if I should start dual wielding axes or just stick with graxe the whole time. I plan on getting sam to 37+ for a sub and when i can start in on EronS parties using a polearm for birds, I can work on skilling up Graxe on my own or just switch it up in parties from time to time. ***talking, informed opinions etc etc will be much appreciated

/nin 24-75 just to help out the mages heal less and use less MP for faster exp, if u were a team player

/nin does not mean u have to DW tho, gaxe > axe

GAxe is awesome at that level. I think dwing axes is good after 50 or 60? I'm not sure, only have 42 war myself, but I think that's what I've always heard.

When you get to Garlaige you probably remember being thf there as you have it lvld i see, you can be perfect SATA partner there /nin.

Dont wanna sound bad or anything here but as soon as you take hate your going to take dmg with no shadows to back ya up thats maybe why the invites arent coming idk.

ppl maybe see the /mnk and auto think noobie war or something.

But yeah like the person above said Gaxe is fine with /nin, sturmwind is 1 of the best ws's of all jobs that low.

Good luck!

Hehe, I remember the days when people went apeshit over Rampage spams while subbing a ridill. But yeah, Gaxe generally wins over axe due to higher skill cap, insane WSes esp when you get King's Justice and less merit stress as you would need to probably merit your offhand weapon to keep up.

Some would advocate using axes for the small window of time that you (if weapons are capped) have Rampage but not Raging Rush. So that'd technically be 55-59, assuming no merits on either.
As the OP mentioned, sort of, the more logical alternate build for XP these days tends to be Polearm. Definitely has an ACC deficiency compared to GAxe, but with birds n' the like has a logical use.

I would also second the "use /NIN" argument. No, it's not going to give you the damage output that /DRG or /SAM might, but you're going to be pulling hate n' tanking. Bouncing hate with another /NIN DD (or something) can be very effective. At 70, you can start with Seigan, so at that point it'd depend on the rest of the party.

Still, Pecking Flurry with no shadows and Berserk up will just plain soak up MP, and at that point you aren't doing anyone a favor by not mitigating damage somehow.

Before: Man/Joy Man/Ridill

But now I have seen the light and GA will always win..yes this game is situational but not on this subject GA will always produce better everything.

Now: GA, With Perdu and long *** Augment one there really isn't a reason to DW. Fine if you have Ridill/Joy Suppa 8sword merits and Torque and amazing gear you can have fun occationally at birds but GA will prolly still win.

DW in dynamis and Einherjar might be ok but again GA will be better.

Polearm on Birds
Gaxe on everything else

only time I've found Dual Wield useful is salvage using Maneater and Ridill on the first two floors, then switch over to Gaxe for higher dot.

Aside from jump and ATT bonus what would the benefits be for going WAR/DRG

@Lerond

Yeah I have been pulling hate in the number of parties I have been in, invites have'nt been any slower than normal in fact they seem to be coming quicker than they did when I was lvling THF, as far as Garlaige goes, I hated that place and may skip it on WAR entirely

5% haste if you buy the earring, but even if you don't buy that, that's going to outdo the damage you get from boost and counter

I /nin in bird pts (exp) even with a paladin because I pull too much hate but if there's a PL (and the pt is fast) I /sam instead. Basically: If the pt is decent or bad you should /nin. If it's good or you're 60+ and can eat normal food, use great axe and Raging Rush spam. Just spam kabobs on birds too, with a bard you shouldn't have too much acc issues.

really its user preference, i've known some people who say in their opinion Great Axe is too slow for them and they dual wield for that reason, i just prefer the steel cyclones and raging rushes
