Sadam was known to have used chemical weapons in the early 90's, this is hardly a revelation. Moreover, GWB and his cronies weren't talking about abandoned decades old stashes of chemical weapons, they were talking about nuclear weapons and dirty bombs, which to this day have not been found.

What a ***thread. First of all if this was a coverup then it was your hero Bush covering it up. Unfortunately, there were no WMDs found in Iraq. There was no active WMD program. We knew Saddam had mustard gas from the first Gulf War, wow. We knew it was shut down. We expected to find remnants of it, and we did. Bush was still very wrong.

Yeah... There's moving the goalpost, then there's just being oblivious to where the goalpost even was. I think this thread an example of the second, because most of us know where the goalpost was. The goalpost was where the bombs(particularly nuclear) were. It seems Tenshi mistook the goalpost for simply being anything that can kill a large number of people, which~ yeah, no, bit more specific than that.

Eh, WMD's is one of those ambiguous terms that is purposefully used to be a catch-all for anything that isn't a conventional firearm or explosive. Large scale weapons are basically incendiary/explosive, chemical, biological, thermonuclear. Chemical and biological weapons are basically never considered WMD's because they aren't designed to cause destruction, but simply death. Dedicated electrostatic weapons are more destructive than chemical or biological weapons but infinitely less deadly. Clarification - The Flu is a WMD by that logic. |
