I didn't even get into the game to prove how much I sucked.
Step 1) Join an Apex mission
Step 2) Nasal irritated nerd voice say: "Why do we keep getting these damn level 1s joining these missions? It's so annoying!"
Step 3) Motion to kick me immediately passes, I'm back at MP main screen.
Now look. I get it. Maybe the Apex missions aren't easy? I have no idea. I haven't gotten to actually *** play one yet. But they're introduced in the first hour of gameplay in the single player campaign as something you should do. I did the MP tutorial, figured "why not give it a shot?" and joined an extremely basic bronze level Apex mission.
I have no idea how hard they are
because I haven't gotten the chance to play one yet.
Meanwhile the one regular multiplayer game I managed to join I managed to kill a handful of things and not die any more than anyone else, despite being extremely bare bones and limited in gear/experience. And we won. Soooo...
I don't know. I just hate so many things about multiplayer. Can I have the multiplayer maps with a simulated squad instead of real people? That'd really be preferable.
I realize...that'd just be like the regular game then, but that's what I wanted in the first place. The single-player game tie-ins to MP because god forbid we have a game with multiplayer that doesn't involve *** up the single-player unless you do both...
Edit: To be clear, I'm well aware of why they do it; to increase income and longevity of their investment with minimal additional work. Keep people playing MP and potentially paying for boosters and stuff to increase profitability of their investment.
I just wish they'd find a better balance, or a smarter way to scale difficulty and match player levels.
